How do you test your progress?
I have been trying to learn spanish for the past year and I feel like Im learning until I watch or listen to Spanish radio/TV then I realize just how much I DONT know.  To try and track my progress I take a spanish level A1 test every month to see if Im gaining any progress.  Over the last 6months I have taken the test 6 times.  Worse grade was 4/10 best grade 6/10  which was my latest test so I am improving even if its at a slow rate.  I was just interested in how other judge their progress?

popular TV shows in Germany?

Google shows me a lot of options and I really don't know what to pick. I just want to watch a couple of shows, just to see how much am I able to understand when native speakers talk between each other. All my teacher and even the people from Duolingo use a slow tempo, but when it comes to speaking in Deutsch with German natives, oh my god, they speak so fast.

Your favourite songs in German

Hello,

I'm now trying to revive my long-forgotten German. My favourite method of learning a bit more vocabulary has always been listening to songs. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about German music except for Marlene Dietrich and Rammstein  I like those two lot but would love to listen to something else as well.

Could you please share your favourite German songs with me?

Why German?
Of all the languages out there to study, what pulled you to German? I took it up as a college requirement and then studied abroad there for a semester.  Unfortunately, I haven't kept very current on my German but would like to start studying it again
